Jon Clarkson – Understanding arguments

In todays session was to learn how to understand an argument, in preparation for our controversy essay on baby cages. We also looked into identifying what a claims is, which is a statement or proposition that could be true or false. You can usually spot a claim by looking for words such as ‘is’ and ‘are’. Going over the basics of an argument is very beneficial in my academic progress as it just makes sure that I’m refreshed and understand. We then moved onto the differences between a good and bad argument and how to put together a good argument.
