Eszter Borbemisza – Urban Layers

Eszter Bornemisza’s work Urban Layers/ Värosrétegek 2010, layers up aspects of a city with the map being at the base with a 3D sculpture built on top. Whereas our group idea for the hidden city project is to layer up pieces of  portrait A4 acetate by suspending them using clear thread from a wooden frame. Bornemisza’s is built up from the base using wire, creating a full and textured look from above. I like how some of the threads have been left loose adding a hand finished look which is what we are after. To achieve this look hopefully a few of us will hand or even machine stitch into our final printed acetates, to add extra detail.
