Rajasthan Trip – Week 2

Day 11, Today we headed out for a full day again with Sheikh, he first of all started by stopping at a Royal Tomb/Memorial point in the city which was very impressive, it was just huge and so extravagant.

We then headed to the Terracotta village to see how they hand make everything. The session was very insightful as they don’t use many tools and is all done by eye. I was so mesmerised watching the man create the piece below.

Our next stop on the way back was to the Maharana Pratap Museum, Haldighati, a very quirky place full of Indian tourists. I actually had such a funny time. We then headed to the final stop of the day was Shilpgram a St Fagans style ‘model’ village, which housed a range of buildings from across India which have been relocated. We got to watch a traditional puppet show which was hilariously strange. Saw a desert band perform, got to wonder in and out of little houses, before finally watching and participating in a traditional dance.
